PPT Cannes 2012: Johannes Van Til chipleader of the Day 1B
At the start of the day, 236 players paid the buy-in of 8,500 at Palm Beach Casino in Cannes to try to qualify for the Day 2 of the Partouche Poker Tour alongside the 123 players already qualified from the Day 1A. After seven levels of play of 90 minutes, there were more than 123 players qualified for the next round with Johannes Van Til as chipleader with a stack of 187,300. Many professional players managed to qualify for the Day 2 like Marvin Rettenmaier, Sam Trickett, Patrick Antonius and Liv Boeree. We also identify a large number of French players like David Benyamin who has 36,000 chips but also Bruno Launais, Tristan Clémençon, Thibaud Guenegou, Alain Roy and Nicolas Levi who have more than 50,000 chips.
But the day was not successful for everyone according to the number of players who left the poker room of Palm Beach Casino on Tuesday. Among the less fortunate who lost the opportunity to continue the adventure, there are big names of live poker like Scott Seiver, Arnaud Mattern, Antony Lellouche, Ilari Sahamies, Jean-Paul Pasqualini, Idriss Ambraisse or Alexander Roumeliotis. The Day 2 will welcome the 283 survivors of the first two qualifying days, but with the re-entry system for the Day 2, we can expect the registration of stars like Tom Dwan and Phil Ivey who were present in the lobby of casino without having participated in the Day 1A.
