PPT 2012: Kick-off of the Main event of 5 million prizepool
The Main event of 8,500 buy-in of the grand final of the Partouche Poker Tour 2012 (PPT) began on Monday, Sept. 3 in Palm Beach Casino in Cannes. On Day 1A, 325 participants including online poker pros and elite of live tournaments take part in the event. Each competitor is entitled to 30,000 starting chips. Note that the eliminated on Day 1A can still retry their luck on Day 1B through re-entry format implemented in this edition 2012. Despite the rain, the first qualifying day of tournament went well. At the end of the meeting, there remains more than 160 players.
The place of chipleader is occupied by the Italian Marcello Morigliano who is a cash game High stakes pro. He holds 187,000 chips in hand. Several top players also managed to get the ticket for Day 2. There is Antoine Saout who is in the second position with 150,900 chips. Michael Mizrachi who ranks third with 144,800 chips while Davidi Kitai is in the fourth position. The second qualifying day begins this Tuesday, September 4 from 1:00 pm. Poker stars like Sam Trickett, Tom Dwan, Phil Ivey and Liv Boeree will be part of the field. Note that apart from the main event, several tournaments will be in the program during the edition 2012 of the PPT. Cash game tables are also available to players.
