APPT Melbourne: A field of 98 players on Day 1A
Mythical live poker tournament in Oceania and the Pacific, the Asia Pacific Poker Tour is now in its Season VI. Since Thursday, August 30, the Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia hosts the Main Event of the APPT Melbourne. 98 players paid the $ 5,000 buy-in on the first day of entry, but after seven levels of play, there were only 65 survivors for the Day 2. Brendon Rubie is the leading temporarily the field with a stack of 103,575 chips. And Rubie is a well known gambler in Australia judging from his record. The Australian effectively won a prize of $ AUD 200,000 for his title at the Side Event of the Aussie Millions 2012. Many poker stars took the start of the Day 1A like the Aussie Millions 2012 champion Oliver Speidel, David Allan and Jason Gray who have not had the chance to qualify for the next round.
Among the survivors of the day, we find Michael Kanaan in the 2nd place in the chip count with 96,675 chips followed by Will Jones (92,025), Aidan Tam (87,925), Andy Lee (85,325), Ashley Warner (84,550), Gary Benson (84,300 ), Liam O'Rourke (84,000), Tom Grigg (80,700) and Haibo Chu (77,375) who concluded the Top 10. Mitch Carle, Oliver Gill, Julius Colman, Ricky Kroesen and Tim English also qualified for the Day 2. The Day 1B began on Friday afternoon and survivors will join the 65 qualified during the Day 1A.
