The Skycity Casino in Queenstown, New Zealand welcomed since Tuesday the sixth season of the tournament Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT). The Main event open for NZ $ 3,000 buy-in is still waiting its winner. It brought together 146 participants in total, a record field. Well known names in poker such as Hong Ryan, Daniel Nelson, Minh Nguyen, Didier Guerin, Zheng Jackson or Richard Lancaster were present in the starting field but they were not as brilliant as Dave Allan who won the role of chipleader. On Day 1 B, other players joined the poker room to try also to qualify for the Day 2. There were only 31 players left at the end of the day with Ken Demiakian leading. He got the biggest stack with 70,750 chips. James Honeybone, Matt Wakeman and Ivan Zalac were among the survivors. In the other hand, the adventure is over for Jesse McKenzie, Jacky Wang and Tom Grigg.

At the end of the Day 1C, another player still unknown to the public was propelled to the place of chipleader. This is Nurlan Boobekov. He has better ranking than poker pros part of the list of survivors as Graug Blight, Aaron Benton, Jarred Graham or Jason O'Brien. The Day 2 will begin on Friday, July 27 during which the 87 survivors will fight to have access to at least the paid list.
