GPI Player Of the Year: The WSOP 2012 changed many thing

The World Series of Poker 2012, currently taking place brought a big change in the global ranking of the best poker players but especially for the title of POY. The first half of 2012 was dominated by Jonathan Duhamel but the poker event of the year held in Las Vegas, at Rio Casino lead to the rise of many players and also the tumble of some. The Canadian is the first victim because despite his good performance in four WSOP Events of this edition 2012 that boosted his earnings to over $ 1.4 million, Duhamel didn't do better than others. This is the case of Dan Smith, who took control with 946.71 points but the most telling case is that of Phil Ivey who after a long time of silence returns at the front of the stage of the world of poker.

The American was present at 5 final tables of the WSOP 2012 and moved up in the top 5 ranking for the title of Player Of the Year. He currently holds the second place behind Dan Smith with 904.17 points. Jonathan Duhamel is relegated to the third place with 795.80 points. In the fourth place is Marvin Rettenmaier, who, thanks for his winning at the WPT World Championship has henceforth 792.52 points. A the fifth place, we find the winner of the Aussie Millions 2012, Oliver Speidel with 669.81 points.
