Big One for One Drop: $ 18 million for Esfandiari and the 1st place of the All Time Money List
Event that marked the edition 2012 of the World Series of Poker (WSOP), the Big One for One Drop announced its results and crowned Antonio Esfandiari as champion. "The Magician" has just achieved a huge feat as he emerged victorious in this competition the most expensive ever played in the world of poker tournaments. Indeed, the 48 competitors for this charity tournament know all very well poker and they wanted to win the first prize amounting $ 18,346,673, a sum that Esfandiari pocketed. With this success, Esfandiari won also the first place in the ranking of players having the biggest gains, the All Time Money List. He also won a second gold bracelet. Having finished fourth in the tournament, Phil Hellmuth also experienced a large increase in the same classification. He is currently in the 6th place behind Daniel Negreanu with $ 16,119,301 in prize money. Erik Seidel, Phil Ivey and Sam Trickett are respectively in the second, third and fourth place.
Note that Sam Trickett was the competitor of Esfandiari during the final duel and pocketed thanks to this feat the sum of $ 10,112,001. With regard to Guy Laliberté, the billionaire who was the organizer of the tournament Big One for One Drop, he also made a good run, finishing 5 th. With the success of this poker tournament, the association One Drop received over $ 7 million, a colossal sum which would help it fund various charitable activities.
