WSOP 2012: A new feat with a bracelet for Vanessa Selbst
This Sunday, July 1st, Vanessa Selbst achieved a great feat propelling her henceforth into the ranks of the best woman poker players in the world. Indeed, by defeating the field of 420 participants in the Ten Game Mix Six-handed tournament of $ 2,500, she won her second bracelet of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and pocketed a prize amounting $ 244,259. Chipleader at the start of the final table six, the 27-years old American was simply magnificent in her game during this last day in the Rio poker room. She eliminated four of the finalists namely Mike Gorodinsky, Thomas Chambers, Chris Bjorin and Tommy Hang who finished respectively in the 6th, 5th, 4th and 3rd.
She also managed to oust her opponent with ease during the final duel, Michael Saltzburg. The unfortunate runner-up had to settle for the second prize of $ 150,840. Note that in this quest for a new triumph, Vanessa Selbst ended the course of two French players who are Julien Renard who finished 7th and Gabriel Nassif who finished 9 th. With this victory, she became the sixth woman who won more than a WSOP bracelet. She is actually at the same level as Jennifer Harman, Susie Isaacs and Starla Brodie who each had two bracelets. Barbara Enright and Nani Dollison are also part of this circle of women poker stars having each three bracelets.
