Event 38 of the WSOP: His first bracelet for Dung Nguyen, the fifth place for David Pham
The Event #38 No-Limit Hold'em of $ 1,500 buy-in of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) brought together a field of 2,502 participants. After three days of competition, there were only 21 survivors to compete for the bracelet like David Pham, Dung Nguyen, Jeffrey Manza, Blair Hinkle, Kristijonas Andrulis, Scott Clements, Blake Cahail, Korik Zachary, Theo Tran, Jason Lester, Bahman Jahanguiri or Tyler Patterson. Jeffrey Manza and Dung Nguyen were the two favorites of the event at the beginning of Day 3 with a respective stack of 1,302,000 and 1,273,000 chips. The eliminations sequenced until the time that the final table was set. Scott Clements was the bubble boy of the final table but failed to the 10th place.
Tyler Patterson was the first to leave the final table after his elimination by David Pham. He still pocketed $ 45,087 for his 9th place. Dung Nguyen eliminated the chipleader of the day Jeffrey Manza who left with $ 58,874. Zachary Korik fell in the 7th place ($ 77,791) of this poker tournament followed by Kristijonas Andrulis (6th, $ 103,995) and David Pham (fifth, $ 140,736). The short stack of the final table, Blair Hinkle, resisted a few more time before falling face to the Three King of Bahman Jahanguiri. He bowed at the fourth place with a gain of $ 192,734 followed shortly after by Jahanguiri ($ 267,241). The head's up was played between Dung Nguyen and Theo Tran but his big stack of 8 million chips, Nguyen maintained his advantage and won the bracelet and $ 607,200. Theo Tran took home $ 377,565 for his second place.
