World Poker Tour: Two new steps in the calendar of the Season XI
Steve Heller, CEO of the World Poker Tour (WPT) and the staff of the organization of this legendary circuit had just announced the addition of two extra tournaments in the circuit for next season. The Season XI of the World Poker Tour will then stop in Johannesburg (South Africa) and Montreal (Canada), a step that was omitted from the WPT schedule since 2008. With these two new steps in one of the most exclusive tours around the world alongside the WSOP, the WPT will have 13 tournaments during the first half of the season 2012-2013. The Emperors Palace Hotel Casino in the South African capital will therefore receive on October 22 to 26 the WPT Emperors Palace Poker Classic Main Event with $ 3,600 buy-in. For its stage in Montreal, Playground Poker Club of Quebec will host the WPT Montreal from November 23 until 26. The main event for the Canadian stage is characterized by a buy-in of $ 3,300 with the possibility of a re-entry for the second day.
The WPT Montreal which marks its come back on the circuit should register a significant increase of its participants. Among the professional players who will be in the Main Event of the Canadian stage, we can already mention the participation of Phil Laak or Antonio Esfandiari. The first half of the Season XI of the World Poker Tour will begin from August 4 to 9 in Cyprus during the WPT Merit Classic Cyprus. The first half will end with the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic scheduled for December 17 to 22.
