WSOP 2012 Event # 33: Max Steinberg won his first bracelet
Three days passed in the Rio poker room for the 2,795 participants who registered in the WSOP 2012 Event # 33, No-Limit Hold'em of $ 1,000. The Day 2 brought together 231 players and after 10 levels of play, Vitaly Meshcheriakov holds the chip lead with 946,000 chips. On Tuesday, the 14 survivors returned to Rio Casino in Las Vegas to compete the nine seats of the final table. Erik Seidel, Amanda Baker, Andy Frankenberger, Humberto Brenes, Jared Vengrin, Mark Radoja, Tom Middleton, Zimnan Ziyard, Faraz Jaka and Daniel Idema didn't have this luck. The 14 players were already in the money and the first player to have left the Day 3 pocketed $ 19,847. At the end of the day, nine of the 14 survivors of Day 3 acceded in the final table: Christopher Shaw, Ryan Laplante, Dylan Hortin, Samuel Gerber, Matt Stout, David Nicholson, Joseph Marzicola, Vitaly Meshcheriakov and Max Steinberg.
The final table saw the coronation of Max Steinberg after a head's up with Samuel Gerber which lasted only a few times. For his victory, Steinberg pocketed $ 440,238 and the WSOP 2012 bracelet engraved with his name. Gerber made an all-in that was paid by Steinberg. As runner up, Samuel Gerber pocketed $ 273,385. Matt Stout eliminated Max Steinberg who ranked finally in the 3rd place with $ 192,813, followed by Dylan Hortin ($ 139,258), Joseph Marzicola ($ 101,802), David Nicholson ($ 75,314), Ryan Laplante ($ 56,372), Vitaly Meshcheriakov ($ 42,688) and Christopher Shaw ($ 32,702).
