Global Poker Index: Elky keeps the leading position

The last update of the Global Poker Index has just been unveiled. To the delight of French people, the top spot is still occupied by Bertrand "Elky" Grospellier. This French player has even acquired some more points ahead of the American Jason Mercier. Regarding the rest of the ranking, the results of different majors that took place recently as the World Poker Tour Championship changed many rankings. So, winner of the $ 25,500 WPT at Bellagio, the German Marvin Rettenmaier was entitled to a place in the top 10, he henceforth occupied the 5th place. David Sands also regained the third place. Steve O'Dwyer meanwhile dropped in the 4 th place. Dan Smith, Jonathan Duhamel, Noah Schwartz, Vanessa Selbst and Sorel Mizzi occupied respectively the 6 th, 7 th, 8 th, 9 th and 10 th place.

The holding of the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas could still have a major influence on the rankings in a few days. Indeed, many of poker elite are present in Rio to try to win a bracelet. Already, some of them have risen significantly in the ranking of the GPI for performing good run in Las Vegas, which is the case of Phil Hellmuth, Barry Greenstein, David Williams and Jason Koon. We should also mention the rise of Fabrice Soulier in the 15th place. So now, eight French players are in the top 100 of the GPI who are Elky, Soulier, Philippe Ktorza, Ilan Boujenah, Guillaume Darcourt, Tristan and Jean Noel Thorel Clémençon.
