WSOP 2012: Monnette Razavi and Van Der Fluit won their bracelets
The edition 2012 of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas continues to distribute trophies to top finishers. Since its kick-off, numerous are those having already won their bracelets, the ultimate trophy to win in a poker player career. Three new champions received effectively the famous jewel. First, there is the Canadian Ashkan Razavi who won at the Event 9, No Limit Hold'em re-entry, which brought together a wide field of 3,404 participants, including great players like Jason Mercier, Liv Boeree, Carlos Mortensen, Tony Dunst or Mike Matusow. Thanks to this victory, the Canadian also pocketed a prize of $ 781,398. This same success, the American John Monnette also experienced it during the Event 10, Seven Card Stud of $ 5,000. This poker pro of 30 years has been indeed victorious in this tournament that brought together 145 players, with names like Nick Schulman, Jeff Lisandro and Eugene Katchalov from the field. This triumph allowed him to win his second bracelet and a prize of $ 190,826.
During the Event 11, Pot Limit Omaha of $ 1,500, the French public hoped to see a compatriot to climb again on the podium of the Rio poker room. Unfortunately, Damien Lhomeau failed to reach it. He bowed at the 4 th place. The trophy was awarded to Vincent van der Fluit, a player from Netherlands who ousted the American Charles Tonne in the final duel. Tristan Wade was awarded the bronze seat. Note that the event attracted 900 participants generating a prize pool of $ 1,309,500. If the winner took home $ 265,111, Lhomeau was entitled to $ 74,536 for his performance.
