WSOP 2012: The weekend brought a lot of new winners
Some new champions at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) were crowned this weekend. Among others, there is Cory Zeidman who came to triumph face to 621 other competitors during the Event 4, a Seven Card Stud Hi-Low 8 or Better of $ 1,500. Having been a finalist in the same event in 2011 and who ended at that time at the 6th place, Zeidman managed to win against other candidates like Michael Mizrachi, the son of the godfather of poker Doyle Brunson and also Xuan Liu. He then won the gold bracelet and the lion's share of the prize pool totaling $ 201,559. Note that he also eliminated the British Chris Bjorin during the final duel.
Nick Zhivkov walked up also on the top of the podium of the Rio poker room this weekend after having won the title of the Event 5, the Pot Limit Hold'em of $ 1,500 entry fee. A native of Illinois, the champion took part in a final table filled with poker's elite such as John Eames, Tommy Vedes, Daniel Negreanu and Jonathan Aguiar. But with brilliance he managed to win. He also contributed to the elimination of the Kid in the 5 th place, while the latter was looking for a 5 th bracelet. During the final head's up, Zhivkov was quickly defeated by Bryan Pellegrino and pocketed the first prize of $ 189,818 and the gold jewelry. Regarding the Event 6, a No Limit Hold'em Mixed Max of $ 5,000, the game continues. Note that the event brought together 409 players and to the delight of the French public, two of their compatriots are finalists who are Hugo Lemaire and Aubin Cazals.
