WPT National Series Cannes: Beginning of the final day
As the organizers estimated it, the field of the World Poker Tour National Series Cannes (WPT) increased dramatically. Indeed, in total, 338 players registered to attend this event among whom 197 were registered on Day 1B. As during the first qualifying day, poker players known internationally as Clement Beauvois, Antonin Teisseire, Bruno Lopes, Mikael Azoulay and Kara Scott were part of the Day 1B field. The prize pool gathered amounted 500,000 and this sum will be distributed to the 45 best players. Note that the champion will walk away with a large sum of an amount of 100,500 and he is also entitled to a 7,500 package to the WPT Grand Prix of Paris.
After the first two days of competition, there were only 107 players in the race. Albiges Benoit was in the lead, followed by Mackel Bertha, the chip leader of Day 1A at the second position and Antonin Teisseire at the third position. They joined the casino to take part in the second day of competition on Saturday. It was a decisive day since the bubble burst and the field narrowed considerably. Indeed, there are only 19 players in the race for the Day 3 and it was Louis Gorotis who occupied the seat of chipleader. The Portuguese Henrique Luis Sobral Custodio was the unfortunate bubble boy who finished 46 th. We should also mention the departure of some celebrities as Kara Scott. But many pros are still in the race to contest the final day as Bruno Lopes and Fred Brunet.
