WPT National Series: Graells victorious in St. Vincent
While most of poker enthusiasts were attracted by the WPT World Championship or the 26th edition of the Marrakesh Poker Open, the city of Saint Vincent in Italy hosted the WPT National Series, an adjunct tournament of the World Poker Tour which knows increasingly success on the circuit. For this new edition, the WPT National Series St. Vincent brought together a field of 201 players. This field generated a prize pool of over 300,000 for a buy-in of 1,650. During the Italian stage, Ricardo Juan Graells won the title and the 70,000 provided for the winner. In addition to these distinctions, the Swiss received a package for the WPT Grand Prix of Venise, a 5,000 buy-in tournament.
Of the 201 participants, nine players reached the final table. In addition to Ricardo Juan Graells, this final table received Simone Ferretti, Fausto Cheli, Davide Catalano, Claudio Stefano Rinaldi, David Ciccarelli, Simone Di Marino, Sebastiano Giudice and Giorgio Bernasconi. David Ciccarelli was the first player to leave the table and was followed shortly after by Simone Di Marino. The two players pocketed 6,920 and 9,245 for their ninth and eighth places. In the seventh place was Claudio Stefano Rinaldi who pocketed 11,550 followed by Giorgio Bernasconi ( 13,890), Davide Catalano ( 17,390), Sebastiano Giudice ( 23,100) and Simone Ferretti ( 31,270). The head's up was between the last two players on the table : Ricardo Graells and Juan Fausto Cheli. But at the end, Fausto Cheli leave the title and pocketed the 47,450 for his runner-up spot.
