WPT World Championship: Marvin Rettenmaier wins the Main Event
On last May 19 to 26, the Bellagio in Las Vegas hosted the WPT Championship during which many Events were held. The main event was the star attraction of this poker circuit with an impressive participation of over 150 players. But in the end, only six players qualified for the final table which saw the coronation of Marvin Rettenmaier, a personality no longer to present on the international circuit of live poker tournaments. He dominated the final table which opposed him to Philippe Ktorza who pocketed for his place as runner up a gain of $ 805,310. This final of the Season 10 of the World Poker Tour was held during the night between Saturday and Sunday for a buy-in of $ 25,000. For his first place, Marvin Rettenmaier won $ 1,196,858, his biggest cash in live tournament. Other WPT and WSOP champions were also qualified at the final table of the WPT Championship like Michael Mizrachi and Nick Schulman but they stumbled in the third and fourth place and pocketed gains of $ 424,618 and $ 256,235.
The rest of the final table is composed of Steve O'Dwyer and Trevor Pope at the fifth and the sixth position. This exceptional performance allowed them to win a gain of $ 192,176 and $ 155,571. Many participants complained about the organization of the WPT but in general, the WPT Championship and the Season 10 of the WPT was a success despite the low attendance of the tournament compared to previous seasons.
