WPT Super High Roller: Justin Bonomo, chipleader of the Day 1
The World Poker Tour World Championship is currently the unavoidable live tournament of this month. In parallel with the Main Event final table, the Super High Roller WPT Championship has begun for the delight of specialists like Tom Marchese, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Dan Smith, Sam Trickett, Isaac Haxton, David Sands, Daniel Negreanu, Jason Mercier and Erik Seidel. In all 25 players registered during the first day and 7 re-entry for a buy-in of $ 100,000. Jason Mercier, Galen Hall, Andrew Robl, Tom Marchese, Cary Katz and Daniel Negreanu were among the seven players who attempted a second chance by reregistering in this Super High Roller.
After 10 rounds of blinds, 19 players qualified for the next round but players eliminated on Day 1 may re-register during the Day 2. Registration remains open 15 minutes before the start of the day. At the lead of the survivors of the first day, we find Justin Bonomo with a stack of 1,433,000 chips followed by Jean Noel Thorel (1,214,000) and Tom Marchese (1,076,000). You can also count on the presence of Dan Smith, Sam Trickett, Andrew Robl, Bill Klein, Isaac Haxton, Phil Galfond or David Sands for the Day 2. Less fortunate than those aforementioned players, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier was well in this poker tournament until he was eliminated by Sam Trickett in the eighth level with blinds of 2.500/5.000/500.
