EPT Monte Carlo: Leo Margets wins the ladies tournament
The grand final of the European Poker Tour (EPT) Season 8 ended. The last tournament held as part of this great festival of European poker announced its verdict. This is the ladies tournament at 1,100 entry fee, which was attended by 47 participants. Known for her enormous talent to play poker, the Spanish Leo Margets was awarded the first place of the podium at this event. As a reminder, the young champion was mainly made famous for her feat at the World Series of Poker 2009 (WSOP) during which she was the last woman standing at the main tournament. If during this competition, she had to stop at the 27 th place, this time, she went until the end and won the first prize.
However, several top players were present at this meeting especially women such as Vanessa Selbst, Melanie Weisner, Isabelle Mercier, Victoria Coren or Xuan Liu. Leo Margets faced Vicky Coren, the EPT London champion in the final duel. The two competitors sign a deal but in the end, it was the Catalan who took home the title. For this triumph, Margets pocketed the prize of 16,850. As for her runner-up, her reward amounted 10,950. Note that the Spaniard also reached the paid placein the main event of the EPT Monte Carlo. Indeed, she ranked 57 th and pocketed the sum of 20,000.
