EPT Monte Carlo High Roller: Triumph of Kurganov
After three days of competition, the Russian Igor Kurganov won the title of the 25,000 High Roller event organized as part of the European Poker Tour Monte Carlo (EPT). A bunch of good poker players, however, was present at the event, which made the competition particularly interesting. Holder of the second largest stack prior to the final table, Kurganov came close to the elimination for several times. But he get to stay there until the end of the game and finished every time to get back into the game, but that was not the case for Justin Bonomo, who despite his chipleader position, had to surrender at the 4 th position.
Igor Kurganov managed to accumulate a large number of chips and won the status as leader before the head's up, a final that he played against the Canadian Daniel Negreanu. The duel ended with the victory of Kugranov who earned the victory with the sum of 1,080,000. He also comes to embellish his record with an EPT title. Note that the Russian did a good run in this season 8 of the EPT. He already gained a third place finish at the EPT High Roller Tallinn and a second place at the EPT High Roller London. His talent for this type of competition has been proven as he also won the runner-up spot at the High Roller Turbo of the EPT Grand Final in Madrid in 2011. Regarding Negreanu, his second place was awarded by a bonus of 598,600.
