Florida: A second WPT trophy for Tommy Vedes
The World Poker Tour Seminole Hard Rock Showdown finalist in 2011, Tommy Vedes finally win the trophy of this tournament he just missed last year. Having started the final with the lowest stack, Tommy Vedes was enthusiast and played a very good poker even if his chance to clinch the victory was quite small. But with a flawless performance, he took his revenge and took home his second WPT title after his first victory in 2009 at the WPT Festa Al Lago. As a reminder, this stage of the WPT hosted 290 participants. While most of top players present in the starting field have given up early enough, John Dolan and Joe Serock stood up to Vedes at the final table of six.
Indeed, Joe Serock was among his most formidable opponent in this final. Not only, he relied on his talent and experience, but he also won the role of chipleader early in the game. But even with this advantage, he wasn't able to stand in the way of Tommy Vedes. Serock finally settled for the third place as in the WPT Bay 101 of last month. Despite the disappointment of having missed the title, he managed to propel himself at the top of the ranking of the WPT Player of The Year. Vedes faced then John Dolan during the final duel. He ousted this latter and reached the first prize of $ 779,520 and a ticket for the WPT World Championship to be held at Bellagio on May 18, 2012.
