Eureka Poker Tour Croatia: The victory for the local player Alija Filipovic
The Eureka Poker Tour stopped at Golden Sun Casino in Zagreb, Croatia. The event of 1,100 buy-in was attended by 178 players generating a prize pool of 178,000. The final table of eight was held last Saturday and after the meeting, Alija Filipovic grabbed the victory crowned by a premium of 42,700. Every competitors of the final table had all enormous talent to play aggressive poker. Indeed, it is with this style of play that the Croatian Dragan Galic, chip leader with 699,000 chips and favorite of the final table, eliminated his compatriot Karolj Kis. This latter settled for the 8 th place winning a prize of 5,910.
After this first phase, Galic confirmed his leading position. Ruud Van de Goor and Verdan Premuzic then left the game before the time during which Filipovic eliminate Ivan Brkicic at the 5 th place, which allowed him to further increase his stack. The trouble began for Galic who saw his chip count decreasing gradually. Following an attack of the Hungarian Mate Mecs, Galic had to surrender after the exit of the Bulgarian Nikolay Bibov for the 4 th place. The local poker pro therefore occupied the third place with a prize of 16,400. Filipovic and Mecs began then the final duel. And at the start, Filipovic lead with a stack of 1,850,000 chips against 750,000 for Mecs and logically, the party was not well balanced. Filipovic finally win the trophy.
