WSOPC: The Iowa title won by Scott Stanko
Cowboy and former broker, Scott Stanko is the kind of person who succeeds in everything he undertakes. And once again, he demonstrated that again in Iowa during the main event of $ 1,620 buy-in of the World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) Council Bluffs. Aged 33 years old, this poker player originally from Nebraska won the league title. Note that the tournament attracted a field of 290 participants including many talented and worldwide recognized players as Chris Bell, Scott Clements, Dennis Phillips or Jacob Bazeley. However, this did not stop Stanko to rise to the victory.
The champion faced Charles Moore, owner of two WSOPC rings during the final duel. After two hours of battle, Stanko ousted Moore. The latter failed to do a triple and had to settle for the runner-up spot with a premium of $ 62,584. At the opposite, as champion, Stanko ended this poker tournament with the gold ring and the first prize of $ 101,266. It should be mentioned that the reward for the winner of this year is much higher than last year which totaled $ 88,000, thanks to the fact that the tournament has seen an increase in attendance. Indeed, in 2011, the event was attended by 252 participants, which means an increase of 16% in attendance. After this glorious passage in Iowa, the WSOPC will visit St Louis on April 21 to 23 for a new stage.
