UK Student Poker Championship: Especially for students
The Ricoh Arena Coventry, UK, welcomed on Tuesday the UK Student Poker Championship. This tournament is as its name suggests for students. Decidedly, live poker is not just for professionals who play for a prize pool of 1 million and more. Poker is also available for amateurs and also for students who are more and more numerous to play poker especially in the UK. And to let everyone participate in the Main Event of the UK Student Poker Championship, the buy-in is only 35 pounds, a boon for students enthusiast of poker. Last year the Main Event of the UK Student Poker Championship was attended by 357 students. It was Gareth Jones who won it and pocketed for that feat the prize money of £ 1,000.
At the opening of the first day of competition, 119 players met at G Casino, Ricoh Arena. The day was a success for organizers who hope to receive even more players for the Day 1B. Like the day 1A, the second entry is limited to 200 players and for those who have not had the chance to participate in the Main Event, the UK Student Poker Championship has in its program other side events such as the Freezeout of 27 pounds buy-in. It is also an opportunity for players who were eliminated in the Main Event to take their chances in a side event. This edition 2012 has already started on Monday and it was the NLH High Roller of £ 110 buy-in reserved only for students that opened the UK Student Poker Championship.
