EPT Campione Day 2: Balazs Botond, leading for the next day
The second day of competition of the European Poker Tour (EPT) Campione has just ended. At the start of the day, 325 players took place in the poker room and everyone hoped about getting a ticket for the Day 3 and why not finish in top of the tournament. But in the end, 99 of them had to give up their dreams because they were eliminated before the end of the game. At the opposite, this desire is becoming a reality for Balazs Botond. He successfully reach the place of chip leader of the moment. He holds 646,000 chipswith a lead of 150,000 chips from his nearest rival who is none other than the EPT Tallinn champion, Ronny Kaiser. Note that Kaiser eliminated two players, which let him gather a stack of more than 500,000 chips. He is therefore in the second position and with his experience in the EPT circuit, he's a worthy opponent in this race for the win.
The chip leader of the day is far from immune of danger because besides the fact of forced to compete against Kaiser, he must also play poker against several other major players on the Day 3. Indeed, among the poker professionals who will return to play the third day of competition of the EPT Campione, there is David Vamplev with 412,900 chips, Roberto Romanello (331,000 chips), Liv Boeree (300,900), Nicolas Chouity (257,000), Rupert Elder (161,600), Martin Finger, the French number one Elky Grospellier and also Olivier Busquet who is in the 8 th position and Massimiliano Bellucci 7 th in chips. It is important to mention that at the end of Day 3, there will be more than 24 survivors who will fight to reach the final table.
