LAPT 2012: Chile welcomes its fifth edition
The fifth edition of the Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT) started since Wednesday, March 21. This is the third time that this poker circuit is held at Vina del Mar in Chile, the second competition held in the country since the terrible earthquake of 2010. Last year, the event brought together 321 participants, a record field in the history of the LAPT. And the trophy was awarded to the Brazilian Murilo Figueredo who pocketed $ 146,000. For the first day of competition of the LAPT 2012, 284 players were present at the Casino Enjoy & Resort to take part in the tournament. But during the Day 1B, 367 players registered to create a total field of 651 players, a big increase of affluence. The prize pool gathered reach then $ 651,840.
The presence of players from New Zealand, Australia and the United States marked the opening day of the LAPT 2012. Well-known players who have achieved very good run last year were also there like Daniela Horno who has also shown once again that he is a good player. Finally, he was placed at the 5th position with 122,200 chips in hand at the end of the day. The Day 1B of the poker tournament also attracted many elite players such as Nacho Barbero, Andre Akkari, Humberto Brenes, Flavio Reis or Luis Montiano. Unfortunately, many of them were eliminated. Approximately190 players will return for the Day 2 scheduled to start on Friday. Joao Lopes takes the place of chip leader by holding the largest number of chips of $ 207,000.
