GUKPT: The Swedish Daniel Haglund crowned during the stage of Walsall
The Swede Daniel Haglund won the title of the Main Event of the Grosvenor United Kingdom Poker Tour (GUKPT) Walsall. This event of £ 1,000 buy-in was attended by 152 players among whom many British poker stars like Julian Thew, Jerome Bradpiece, Chaz Chattha, Jeff Kimber, Stuart Fox, Sunny Chattha, Dan Carter... These top players were all vying to win the biggest share of the prize pool of $ 153,000. However, none of them managed to reach the final table of 8 which was dominated by the Swedish, the third in chips at the beginning of the meeting.
Note that Haglund is not only a pro of online poker but has also already achieved feats in live tournaments. He counts four cashes in live tournaments since 2011 and one of them is a 8 th place in a side event of the World Series of Poker. By receiving £ 45,100 for this victory at the GUKPT Walsall, Haglund has therefore a gain of $ 164,274. His experiences enabled him to shine at the final table. It should be mentioned that he eliminated two players who are Dave Clark who is in the 4 th place and Martin Holmes who finished 3rd before the final duel that oppose him to the day chipleader Steve Holden. As runner-up, this latter pocketed a prize of £ 31,750. Regarding the results of other players, Chris Gavriel, Terry Owens, Jonathan McCann, Arulmaran Sivaguru and Simon Deadman are respectively in the 5th to the 9th place.
