WPT National Denmark: Coronation of Steve O'Dwyer
After a 7th place at the final table of the EPT Copenhagen, Steve O'Dwyer has just completed a new achievement on the international circuit. Indeed, this American poker star won the title of the World Poker Tour National Series (WPT), which was held in the casino of Munkebjerg Velje, Denmark. This tournament available for an entrance fee of 1,500 + 150 attracted 289 participants. O'Dwyer was the only foreigner on the final table. But despite that, this American player managed to beat local players that also to the fact that he occupied the place of chip leader at the beginning of the confrontation. He know how to keep his advantage and started the final duel between him and Martin Tonnesen with a stack level four times bigger than that of his opponent, which greatly helped him to victory.
After this part, Steve O'Dwyer has been crowned champion and received the first prize of 120,247, the trophy and the National Series ring. With this new feat, O'Dwyer counts over $ 2.5 million earnings in live tournament. The grand champion was congratulated by his countrymen Doyle Brunson and Scott Seiver. Regarding the outcome of the other finalists of the tournament, Martin Tonnesen held the position of runner-up with and pocketed 65,900. Uhrskov Claus, Jan Sorensen, Justin Land and Kenneth Laursen finished respectively at the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th of this poker tournament.
