WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star: Baumstein as chip leader of the Day 2
After the first two qualifying days, the 149 survivors joined the tables of the World Poker Tour Bay 101 Shooting Star to designate the few players who will for be eligible for the Day 3. Throughout the day, we witnessed the shooting of many stars such as Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Fabrice Soulier, Jason Mercier, David Pham, Tommy Vedes, Men Nguyen, Allen Cunningham, Michael Mizrachi, Linda Johnson and Kathy Liebert. Of the 149 players who started the day, only 20 of them were qualified for the Day 3 of this poker tournament with as chipleader Scott Baumstein who won the 10,000 High Roller of the Master Classics of Poker in in 2011.
Behind Baumstein and his 1,301,000 chips, we found Andrew Badecker (1,106,000), Moon Kim (1,016,000), Joseph Elpayaa (861,000) and Erik Cajelais (807,000) in the Top 5. The Canadian Jonathan Duhamel climbs into the Top 10 in the sixth position with 751,000 chips followed closely by Taylor von Kriegenbergh (737,000), Joe Serock (647,000), Mike McClain (537,000) and Danny (443,000). Among the players who qualified for the Day 3, we can mention among others Brandon Wong, Adam Geyer, JC Tran and Amir Lehavot. The WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star promises a guaranteed prize of $ 3,458,000 to be distributed among the 36 players coming into the money. The 20 survivors of the day who are already in the money will meet on Thursday to set the final six players for the televised final table.
