GPI Player of the Year: Noah Schwartz, 2nd in the ranking
Since the launching of the GPI Player Of the Year a few weeks ago, the Global Poker Index updates weekly the rankings of professional players for the title of player of the year. This week, the Canadian Jonathan Duhamel is in the first step of the podium with a score over 500 points. But the big increase returns to Noah Schwartz who jumps twenty places and he is now himself in second place ranking just behind Duhamel. A large gap separates the Canadian of the rest of the pack because the new runner up has 326.05 points followed by Faraz Jaka (308.35), Sam Chartier (305.80) and Jason Koon (284.24) who close the Top 5.
Noah Schwartz owes his growth to recent performances he did during these last tournaments of the moment. Indeed, Noah Schwartz won the $ 5,000 PLO 8-Max Turbo face to a field of 56 players and pocketed $ 85,250. A 10th place in the Main Event of the Isle Classic and a 18th place at the WPT Hearts Lucky Poker Open led him to pocket $ 8,564 and $ 10,067. And finally the LA Poker Classic, a tournament in which he rose to the final table of the $ 10,000 No-Limit Hold'em. He won $ 355,750 for his fourth place at this Side Event. There is also Stephen Chidwick who won nearly 71 places to rank in the Top 10. It is the same for Daniel Idema (ninth) who took a leap of 63 places.
