WSOP National Championship: More players qualified for the edition 2012
The second edition of the World Series of Poker National Championship (WSOP) will be held at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino on July 6. The event will take place at the same time as the 43 th edition of the WSOP. In this edition 2012, some changes were made. Indeed, in order to develop a tournament that let to distinguish the best poker player of the circuit, the organizers decided to expand the field. Thus, in addition to players who qualified during the WSOP Circuit 2011-2012, the top 100 players at the WSOP and WSOP Europe in 2010 and 2011 will be also present at this tournament. In total therefore, the tournament field will be around 200 participants.
Last Monday, the organizers announced the names of nominees who have the privilege to pay the buy-in of $ 10,000 and take part in this event. Among eligible players, there is Michael Mizrachi, Jason Mercier, Jonathan Duhamel, John Juanda, Pius Heinz, Eugene Katchalov, Ben Lamb, Phil Hellmuth, Sam Trickett and Jack Cody. Note that the total of the buy-in of the 100 qualified players will be added to the pot and players who will win their seats by winning the trophy during the various stages of the WSOPC will no longer pay the buy-in. Last year, the title was awarded to Sam Barnhart who won a WSOP bracelet and the first prize of $ 300,000. This year's meeting promises to be spectacular. The televised final table will be held on July 11.
