WPT LA Poker Classic: Kick-off of the main event this Friday, February 24
The celebration of the LA Poker Classic (LAPC) began last month at Commerce Casino in Los Angeles. Indeed, this poker festival composed of fifty events started since January 18, 2012. Players who came at Commerce Casino have played poker no-limit hold'em, pot limit Omaha, Deepstacks, Omaha eight or better, or Heads Up Seven Card Stud. But the highlight of the celebration will be the World Poker Tour LA Poker Classic of $ 10,000 which kickoff will be held this Friday, February 24. The coronation should take place on February 29. Note that this event attracts many poker enthusiasts each year. Since its existence, the main event of the WPT LAPC recorded more than $ 40 million prize pool of which 11.5 million were awarded to six champions including top players such as Gus Hansen, Michael Mizrachi, Antonio Esfandiari and Phil Ivey.
Last year, the tournament brought together a field of 681 participants generating a prize pool of $ 6,537,600. The defending champion, Gregory Brooks pocketed $ 1,654,120 during this edition after having faced strong competitors like Carlos Mortensen who holds the player's biggest win in the WPT, the titleholder of Online Player of The Year 2010 Steve Gross, Vivek Rajkumar but also Daryll Fish and Amir Lehavot. This year, another success is expected.
