EPT Copenhagen: Melanie Weisner lead after the Day 2
The European Poker Tour (EPT) Copenhagen gathered finally a total field of 299 participants. While the Day 1A saw a small crowd with 83 registered players, 217 poker enthusiasts from 35 different countries joined the poker room at Casino Copenhagen to take part in Day 1B. However, a sharp drop in attendance was recognized as last year, there were 499 players who attended the event. At the start of Day 2, this field narrowed to 179 players and Steve O'Dwyer was in the lead with 190,975 chips in hand. Other professionals such as the finalist of the EPT Prague and the Partouche Poker Tour 2011 Mads Wissings, Roberto Romanello, Juha Helppi and Marcel Bjerkmann are also part of the top 10. And other favorites as Martin Jacobson, Anton Wigg, Luca Pagano and Victor Blom are still in contention.
But the presence of these poker stars have not stopped the American Melanie Weisner who granted the position of chip leader after the Day 2. She throne among the 71 survivors for the Day 3. However, She will still lead a fierce battle because this field for Day 2 is composed of many very good players. Most of these poker pros are still in the race. The amount involved in this tournament is important because the winner will pocket a bonus of 338,223 a bracelet and the trophy Shamballa Jewels amounting 10,000.
