EPT Copenhagen: Only 83 players registered for the Day 1A

At first glance, the European Poker Tour (EPT) Copenhagen 2012 is far from as successful as the edition 2011. Indeed, the first qualifying day gathered only 83 participants. It will be thus a little bit difficult to believe that the field can reach 449 participants as recorded in the last edition. Despite the low attendance, a nice show have been available on the gaming tables because well known players attended the event. In addition, Steve O'Dwyer who was awarded the runner up place at the stage of London was able to seize the chip lead up at the end of the day. He colleted 190,975 chips at the end of the day. Roberto Romanello, Anthony Hnatow and Melanie Weisner are among the top 10. While Arnaud Mattern was not in a very fit at the end of Day 1A, his compatriot, Hnatow is ready to defend the honour of France with 70,500 chips in hand.

The first day of competition was composed of seven levels of play. At the end of the day, there were only 35 survivors to attend the second day of competition which begins on Wednesday, February 22. The final day will be held on February 24 and on February 25, the EPT Copenhagen champion will be finally known. Note that these last two days will be broadcast live on many online poker rooms. Note that the organizers hope to raise at least 150 participants on Day 1B, which will enable them to recognize at least half the field of the edition 2011.
