Mazagan Poker Million: Victory of Alberto Saade in Morocco
Last weekend, French and Moroccan poker enthusiasts gathered in Morocco for the Mazagan Poker Million, an event which took place in the luxurious 5-star hotel Mazagan Beach Resort. The event of 1,100 buy-in had a great success because during these two days of poker in this prestigious setting, 139 players registered for the Main Event of one million dirhams prize pool. Many French players made the trip like the two world champions at the WSOP 2011, at the HORSE and PLO event : Fabrice Soulier and Elie Payan but also other well-known players as Roger Hairabedian, Jean Paul Pasqualini and Alain Roy. But at the end, it is the Lebanese Alberto Saade who won during the Main Event after a head's up against Med Bennani. The Lebanese therefor won 275,000 dirhams or the equivalent of 24,700.
For the title of runner up, Med Bennani won 230,000 dirhams followed by Marc Geo Gregori (DHM 200,000), Najib Bennis (DHM 200,000), Jean Paul Pasqualini (DHM 104,000), Lorenzo Capogrosso (DHM 84,000), Giuseppe Zarbo (DHM 69,000 ) and Roger Hairabedian (DHM 54,000). In all, 20 players entered in the money list at this MPM Special Everest / BetClick. This event was also an opportunity for the two WSOP 2011 champion Fabrice Soulier and Elie Payan to compete in a 100% friendly head's up Pot Limit Omaha. The duel was played over three rounds, and after five hours of hard play, it was finally Elie Payan who won the game with two innings against one for Fabrice Soulier.
