Genting Poker Series: The first stage began in Birmingham
The first stage of the new poker circuit called Genting Poker Series (GPS) has just been launched. Indeed, the Star City Casino in Birmingham, England met since last February 2 poker enthusiasts who came massively to participate in the £ 440 buy-in main event. About the structure of the tournament, two first days qualifying are in the program and competitors will receive 25,000 starting chips for levels of 60 minutes. On last Wednesday February 1st, a satellite tournament qualifier for the main event was also organized. Note that this main tournament has a guaranteed prizepool of £ 100,000.
Besides the main event, very interesting side event tournaments wait also poker enthusiasts at this first stage of the GPS. The first side event, the £ 109 buy-in NLHE was already held on February 2. On February 3, another NLHE open for the same entrance fee is on the agenda. On Saturday, February 4, a side event of £ 160 buy-in will be played on the sidelines of the second day of competition of the main event. It will last two days and the final will be held simultaneously with the final of the main event. The event that will conclude the tournament will be the Megastack Turbo of £ 55 buy-in. After this inaugural stage, the tournament will visit Southend, Edinburgh, Sheffield and Stoke. An online poker tournament will be also included in this tour 2012 prior the grand final of £ 1,600 which will be held at Palm Beach Casino in London.
