European Poker Awards: The nominees unveiled
For more than ten years now, the European Poker Awards reward the best European poker players : the best players in different categories but also the best European tournament. The 11th ceremony of the European Poker Awards will be held on January 25, 2012 as part of the Euro Finals of Poker with a board of examiners composed of Nicolas Fraioli, Juha Helppi, Liv Boeree, Kara Scott, Jesse May, Groenwood Leon, Nic Szeremeta, Jerome Schmidt and Barry Carter. Among the nominees of this ceremony, we find in the "Player of the Year" Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Jake Cody, Pius Heinz, Andrey Pateychuk, Sam Trickett and Eugene Katchalov. For the "Best Performance in a tournament," there will be Fabrice Soulier, Sam Trickett, Pius Heinz, Benny Spindler and Jake Cody. The price of "Newcomer of the Year" will be awarded either to Pius Heinz, Oleksii Kovalchuk, Sam Holden, Adrien Allain and Andrey Pateychuk.
In the side of women players, Liv Boeree, Barbara Martinez, Cecilia Pescaglini, Nesrine Kourdourli, Victoria Coren and Natalia Nikitina are nominated for the award of "Best player". For the " Poker employee of the year," Simon Trumper, Edgar Stuchly, Warren Lush, Kirsty Thompson and Nicolas Fraioli are in the race. Viktor Blom, Jude Ainsworth, Ilari Sahamies, Rui Cao and Chris Moorman are struggling for the prize of the "online player". For the "Rob Gardner Memorial Award" of the personality of the year, the nominees are ElkY, Tony G, Jesse May, Barny Boatman and Neil Channing. And finally the "Best Event" award will be shared between the EPT London, the WPT Grand Prix de Paris, the WSOPE Cannes, the Dublin International Poker Open and the final of the Partouche Poker Tour.
