WPT Venice: Roger Hairabedian among the participants of Day 1A
As James Dempsey still enjoy his victory at the World Poker Tour Five Diamonds Poker Classic, the first confrontations already begin in the poker room of the casino Di Venezia, in the city of Venice for the WPT Venice. A field of 76 participants was recorded during the first qualifying day of the 3,300 buy-in main event of the tournament. This is the stage of the WPT circuit that will close this year and the next appointment is in 2012. Among the top players who registered at this Venetian stage is Roger Hairabedian. Holder of second place during the Live Poker ranking, Big Roger hurried to travel to Venice after his highly successful appearance at the Grand Series of Poker in Prague. Admittedly, the godfather of Moroccan poker attempts to increase his achievements in order to keep or improve his ranking.
At the end of Day 1 consisting of eight levels of play, the Terminator reached the 6th position with 120,600 chips in hand. The place of chipleader came back to Andrea Dato, holder of 217,300 chips. He is followed by the American Steve O'Dwyer who was able to raise 159,000 chips. Some top players like Sam El Sayed, Dario Alioto, Marvin Rettenmaier, Scott Baumstein missed their qualifying for the second day of competition. Fortunately, they can always retry their luck on Day 1B. Note that 29 players earned their place for the rest of the competition.
