WPT Five Diamond Day 2: Lang as winner
After the first day marked by the domination of Vanessa Selbst in terms of chip count, the 283 survivors of Day 1 and new poker players who register during the Day 2 joined again the tables at the Bellagio Hotel & Resort. The second day of the World Poker Tour Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic brought together a field of 412 participants for a guaranteed prize pool of over $ 4 million. To recap, the buy-in was $ 10,000. At this event, the top 100 places will be paid. After a fierce day of competition and a few hands, Grant Lang took the first place and become the chipleader among the 149 remaining players on Day 3.
The top ten first places in chip counts of the Day 2 is composed of Grant Lang (382,000), Jeff Frerichs (342,900), Scott Clements (330,100), Cuong Nguyen (329,800), Jean Gaspard (296,200), Keith Ferrera (295,800) James Dempsey (288,300), Matt Glantz (287,000), Rudy Maarek (271,600) and Brent Roberts (262,200). Among the other qualified for Day 3, there are great players in this pack as the defending champion Antonio Esfandiari, Jason Mercier, Ben Lamb, Phil Hellmuth, Doyle Brunson, Tony Dunst, Daniel Negreanu, Vanessa Selbst, Allen Cunningham, Andrew Robl, Freddy Deeb, Petter Jetten, Matt Giannetti, Eli Elezra, Hoyt Corkins, Todd Brunson, Barry Greenstein, Jeff Schulman, Jennifer Harman, Gavin Smith, Faraz Jaka, Jennifer Tilly, Brandon Cantu, Annette Obrestad, Scott Montgomery, Jared Bleznick, David Pham, Dwyte Pilgrim or Shaun Deeb.
