EPT Loutraki: Zimnan Ziyard, a name to remember
The first edition of the European Poker Tour Loutraki (EPT) has just ended and crowned as champion the Englishman Zimnan Ziyard. They were 336 players who participated in this first transit of the tournament in Greece. Although some top players such as David Vamplev, Kevin MacPhee and Rupert Elder were present in the starting field, none of them managed to reach the final table. Champion of the EPT San Remo, Rupert Elder was eliminated at the 13th place after leading a hectic battle against the champion of the tournament. This confrontation allowed Zimnan Ziyard to win the title of chipleader on the final table. Gradually, therefore, that player still unknown to poker enthusiasts traced his way to victory that allowed him to win a gain of 347,000.
After the exit of Mario Puccini, Charalampos Kapernopoulos, Andras Kovacs, Pierre Mothes and Florian Schleps at the 8th, 7th, 6th, 5th and 4th place, the public of the poker room of London Eye also witnessed a battle between the three remaining players including the local player John Tarama, the German Hauke Heseding and the winner of the tournament Zimnan Ziyard. If Tarama had to settle for the third place with an award of 134,400, the German player was able to pick up the runner up spot which let him to earn a reward of 221,800. This played did a very good run even if participated randomly in the tournament because he picked up his place thanks to a package offered during an online poker tournament. As for Zimnan Ziyard, he just won a coveted place in the poker world after this victory, especially as he already has in his prizelist a 20th place at the EPT Deauville and a 6th place during a PLO tournament in the World Series of Poker Las Vegas 2011.
