EPT Loutraki: Julian Herold as chipleader of Day 1A
The European Poker Tour season 8 continues its tour in Greece after the first stage in Italy as part of the EPT San Remo. Club Hotel Casino Loutraki, Greece received the first day of the poker tournament with a Main Event of 4,400. Day 1A brought together 145 players but at the end of the day, only 102 players were qualified for Day 2. After a few hours of game having seven levels, the German Julian Herold is currently holding the chip lead. Throughout the day, Julian Herold and the American Mclean Karr, already holder a WPT title dominated the game by winning a respective stack of 138,425 and 103,100 chips. Karr won the majority of his chips face to Tolly Sakellariou. In addition to the qualified players for the Day 2, the EPT Loutraki was also marked by the elimination of many players like Martin Horecki, Brandon Cantu, Dominik Nitsche, Fernando Brito and Richard Toth.
Behind Herold and Karr, there are Roman Makhlin (102,100), Alexios Zervos (97,425), Ioannis Tarama (85,000), Ilias Zografos (83,125), Rupert Elder (82,700), Miltiadis Kyriakides (82,500) and Enver Abduraimov (76,750). Of the 102 players from Day 1A qualified for Day 2, several winners of the EPT, as Mats Gavatin, Rupert Elder, David Vamplew and Kent Lundmark are also on the list. And about French players, only Paul Testud was able to qualify and will begin the Day 2 with 23,750 chips. The second entry (Day 1B) of the EPT Loutraki takes place on Wednesday at noon for the other players who want to qualify for Day 2.
