Caen: A family organizers of bingo in court
The city of Caen, in France witnessed in recent days the trial of a rather special family organizer of bingo which hasn't followed regularly the rules in this field. Indeed, the criminal court of Caen prosecute several people within the organization of several prohibited bingo parties, concealment, concealed work and breach of trust. Indeed, the family members presented themselves as a group called Sous le soleil des tropiques, an entity created in April 2006 and which organized between 2007 and 2012 parties of bingo in the region of Caen. According to their version, the funds are intended to enable Caribbean children to travel to their native island to go to meet their grandparents. These events gained wide success and other events were organized but revenues amounting to 750,645 were embezzled.
Indeed, according to the inquiry, the family members who are 6 in number appropriated the benefits gathered at these events. They then appeared in court of Caen last Tuesday and were held to be guilty. The perpetrators should normally be sentenced to six months suspended imprisonment, or 12 to 18 months in prison with six months suspended and a fine amounting to 30,000. But a request for release occurred and the court should still consider the case. The final verdict will fall on next Tuesday, December 13.
