Deepstack Open Vienna: The trophy awarded to the Austrian Manfred Spahn
The end of the DeepStack Open Vienna 2011 was finally announced in the poker room of Poker Club Montesino, in the Austrian capital. Indeed, the fifth stage of the DSO crowned its winner who was the local player Manfred Spahn. The event was a real success as a field of 507 participants was recorded during this event 2011, generating a prizepool of 250,000. The DSO Vienna also gather top players such as the famous Dragan Galic as well as leading poker players from all around the world like the famous tournament director Thomas Kremser. At the end of this tournament where lovers of deepstack poker meet, Manfred Spahn won the title while his compatriot Thomas Panek got the prize of the runner up.
Michael Leng held the place of bronze while Sigi Rath and Istvan Csabai were respectively ranked in the 4th and 5th place. Note that 76 players were eligible for the award during the main event of the DSO Vienna. But two side event tournaments were also organized as part of this event. And during the side event of 300 buy-in, the Serb Zoran Mariukovil won the victory. The title of the 200 buy-in side event has been awarded to the German Philip Karsten. Fans of the DSO circuit will meet again from November 21 to 28 under the sun of Marrakesh to compete in the next stage of the tournament.
