Caesars Cup: Tony G to replace Dario Minieri
If everyone thought that the American and European teams were all ready for the Caesars Cup taking place this Wednesday, October 19th in Cannes during the WSOP Europe, the European selection conducted by Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier has seen a change in its membership. Indeed, the captain of the European team recruited Antanas Guoga aka Tony G following the withdrawal at the last minute of Dario Minieri. As the U.S. team, the European selection is therefore strengthened by a new player well known on the international circuit. Last week, Phil Hellmuth, the captain of the US was forced to recruit Jason Mercier and Ben Lamb to replace Doyle Brunson and Huck Seed following their withdrawal also.
The recruitment of Tony G in the European selection will bring a little spice to the game. Tony G Poker is a professional player recognized for his trash talking that can be beneficial for the team. His technique based on "a little injurious" language lead him to success in various tournaments and allowed the Lithuanian to accumulate a total gain of $ 4,339,565 in his career. This Australian of Lithuanian origin will bring a lot of experience in the European selection game already formed by renowned player as Bertrand Grospellier, Maxim Lykov, Jake Cody and Gus Hansen. This selection will face the U.S. team composed of Phil Hellmuth Daniel Negreanu, Jason Mercier, Johnny Chan and Ben Lamb. Remember that the first edition of the Caesars Cup 2009 was won by the European selection of Annette Obrestad.
