WSOP Europe: Start of two weeks of intense poker in Cannes
For the first time in four years, the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) make a stopover in France. Created in 2007, this tournament is known as the largest live poker tournament in Europe and about the place that host this tournament, it crossed the Channel to reach the city of Cannes for this season 2011. The Croisette Casino Barrière will therefore receive for the first time the French stage, which begins on Friday, October 7 and will only end n October 20. During these two weeks of competition are planned 9 events and WSOP bracelets can be won during 7 events of them. Players expected to attend this event will compete for the title of the Side Event (October 7 to 15) and the Main Event (October 15 to 20) on a total of 75 tables.
In 2010, the WSOP Europe numbered only five events, while for the French stage, the tournament offered with bracelets to win was increased to seven : No Limit Hold'em 6-max of 2,680, Hold'em No Limit of 1,090, Pot Limit Omaha of 5,300, No Limit Hold'em SHOOTOUT of 3,200, No Limit Hold'em (split) of 10,400, Pot Limit Omaha 6-max of 1,620 and the 10,400 buy-in Main Event. Two additional events arre added to the tournament but without bracelets : the No Limit Hold'em - Ladies ( 550 buy-in) and the Caesars Cup (freeroll). Many poker players are expected for the WSOP Europe in Cannes to succeed to the reigning champion James Edge, who won £ 830,401 in 2010.
