EPT London: Martins Adeniyi in a good position for the final table
After five days of competition at the Main Event of the European Poker Tour London (EPT), the final table competitors should be finally known. Of the 691 enrolled in the first day, only eight players are selected for the grand final which will take place this Thursday, October 6 at noon at the Hilton London Metropole. As reminder, this Main Event was played with an entry fee of £ 5,000 + £ 250. On Day 5 of last Wednesday, 24 players stayed in the race but after a few hours of play, Martins Adeniyi, Mattias Bergström, Benny Spindler, Andre Klebanov, Kevin Iacofano, Juan Manuel Pastor, Steve O'Dwyer and Miroslav Benes qualified for the final. Martins Adeniyi is the chip leader at the entrance of the final table with 4,736,000 chips.
The first player among the 24 survivors to have been removed from the final table was Viktor Blom, followed shortly after by Per Hildebrand (23rd), Fowzi Baruch (20th) and Basil Yaïche (19th). The winner of the EPT Season 5, Joao Barbosa wasn't able to qualify for the final. The Polish ended up in the 17th place, winning £ 19,000. After the dinner, James Mitchell and Jeremy Kottler were respectively defeated at the 11th (£ 35,000) and 10th (£ 45,000) position. Half an hour later, the ninth player of the tournament Adria Balaguer has been ousted by Martins Adeniyi. If this Englishman wins the EPT London, he will succeed his compatriot David Vamplew, winner of the previous edition.
