ANZPT Darwin: Aaron Benton chipleader at the start of Day 2
After Melbourne, the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour (ANZPT) continues its stage in the north of Australian with the step of Darwin. The tournament began on October 4 at Skycity Darwin Casino with a buy-in of $ 2,200. The Australian player Roy Hills dominated the Day 1A of this poker tournament by winning 61,850 chips. At the Main Event Day 1B, the champion 2009 of the APPT Sydney took the place of chipleader by winning 58,075 chips, note that 20,000 starting chips was offered to each player. He precedes Liam O'Rourke with about 14,000 chips. Ryan McKay is in the third place with 42,975 chips in the chip count followed closely by Jesse McKenzie (39,575), David Seccafien (33,975), Amir Heydapour (33,625), Julian Lange (33,025), Leo Boxell (29,525), Ricky Kroesen (25,300) and Luis Pampliega (24,300) who closes the Top 10.
Among the players who will open the Day 2, we find John Apostolidis, Ricky Kroesen, Charles Caris, Jesse McKenzie, Tim English, Ryan McKay, David Seccafien, Amir Heydapour, Julian Lange, Leo Boxwell, Mario Ljubicic, Marcel Schreiner and the defending champion of the APPT Queenstown. Despite the World Series of Poker Europe, which will begin in a few days, Leo Boxwell wanted to participate in this tournament. The "ANZ Player of the Year" is ranked at the eighth position of the ranking in terms of chip count. At the beginning of Day 2, the 21 survivors of Day 1B will join qualifiers of the Day 1A. The 48 players will share so the six tables in the poker room of Skycity Casino planned for the second day of competition.
