EPT London Day 3: James Mitchell took the lead
691 players were registered for the rest of the season of the European Poker Tour which began in London at Hilton London Metropole, on Friday, Sept. 30. It was during last weekend that the Day 1 and Day 2 of the tournament took place with a buy-in of £ 5,000 +250 during which the public saw the good performance of Benny Spindler. The German dominated the tournament since the Day 1B during which he finished as chip leader with 469,800 chips. The American Jamie Rosen follow him with 60,000 chips behind (405,000). And the French, Basile Yaiche also climbs on the podium with a total of 403,600 chips. At the end of Day 2, therefore, the EPT London numbered only 159 survivors on the 691 players who opened the tournament.
Benny Spindler was on the way to succeed to David Vamplew and win the £ 750,000 bonus. But the Day 3 changed the situation and the German was relegated to the 12th place in terms of chip count. After only four levels, the 159 players were reduced to 62 with the Englishman James Mitchell as chipleader. At the end of Day 3, James Mitchell exceeds a million chips and is thus placed on a more than comfortable place to begin the three remaining days of this poker tournament. Mitchell holds the lead with 1,071,500 chips, followed by Sam Macdonald (860,000), Martins Adeniyi (786,800), Basil Yaiche (756,500) and Matthijs Remie (732,500) for the Top 5.
