Big One for One Drop: Official launch of the $ 1 million buy-in tournament
Guy Laliberté announced in early June the emergence of a new poker tournament with a million dollar buy-in that is part of the WSOP 2012 in order to raise funds for the association One Drop. Earlier this week, the Canadian billionaire and Loto Quebec just opened at a press conference the launching of the "Big One for One Drop", which aims to be the biggest poker event ever organized in essence, a charitable objective. The Big One will run from July 1st and 3, 2012 in Las Vegas during the WSOP. Indeed, the Big One will be held at the World Series of Poker 2012 with particularity as buy-in : $ 1 million! As with other stages of the WSOP, the winner will walk away with the money prize but also the WSOP bracelet. But this time, the winner will pocket nearly $ 17 million and a unique bracelet in "platinum".
A $ 25,000 satellite will be held on May 19 and 20 and will let to 64 players to try their chance to qualify to the greatest main event in the history of live poker. The tournament invites 48 players and 11.1% of the buy-in, which is $ 5 million will go to the association One Drop. Currently, 16 players have already signed up for the Big One for One Drop. For recall, One Drop is a foundation created by Guy Laliberté in 2007 in order to promote access to safe drinking water throughout the world.
