WPT Malta : The November Nine Matt Gianetti get a nice victory
The first stage of the World Poker Tour Malta (WPT) was closed this weekend and ended with a victory of the November Nine Matt Gianetti. It became common for some finalists of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) to accomplish another feat in a major tournament prior to the grand final of November. These include among others the third place of the WSOP 2008 runner up Ivan Demidov during the WSOP Europe, the second place of Kevin Schaffel at the WPT Legends of Poker and the feat of James Akenhead and Antoine Saout at the WSOP Europe in 2009. In 2010, the Americans Matt Jarvis and Joseph Cheong, members of the November nine 2010, won each a title at the Festa Al Lago Bellagio.
So this year, Matt Gianetti therefore illustrates that he has a big talent before the finals of the WSOP with this victory in the poker room of casino Portomaso. He indeed emerged victorious against a field of 240 participants in the main event with a total prize pool of 698,400. Thanks to his performance, Gianetti won the first prize of 273,200 and a place in the WPT World Championship of $ 25,000. He ousted the Italian Cecilian Pescaglini during the final duel. This woman player from Italia had to settle then to pocket the second prize of 157,412. Another Italian player took also the place on the podium in the third place that let him to pocket a bonus of $ 104,936. Filippo Bianchini. Simon Trumper, Tristan Clémençon and Fabien Sartoris were respectively ranked in the 4th, 5th and 6th place. The new stage of the WPT will be held at Foxwoods Resort Casino from October 27 to November 1st.
