Epic Poker League: Greg Mueller crowned champion of the Pro/Am tournament
The second stage of the Epic Poker League tournament has just begun. At the inaugural event which is the Pro/Am tournament of $ 1,500 buy-in, a field of 97 players was recorded. Note that this tournament brought together in the poker room of Palms Casino Las Vegas amateur and professional of poker eager to be among the competitors of the $ 20,000 main event that will start soon. The event ended on Monday by Greg Mueller's victory. He succeeded to defeat Nam Le and Phil Hellmuth in the last round and won for the occasion the famous place for the elite of poker's meeting. Because of the low attendance of participants in the tournament, organizers registered a prize pool of $ 180,000. Thus, the top nine players were the only ones entitled to a reward.
These skilled players will fight alongside the 252 members of the Epic Poker League. For some of them as Sean Getzwiller, Andreas Hoivold, Brandon Meyers, Russell Rosenbum, Jeremy Ausmus and Michael DeVita, it was a great opportunity but they can't have the privilege to be part of this great community of poker's elite. Note that Getzwiller and Meyers got their ticket in the main event of the first stage after having been qualified at the Pro/Am tournament. Getzwiller even finished 9 th, which allowed him to pocket a gain of $ 70,960. This second stage of the Epic Poker League will be held in conjunction with the World Poker Tour Grand Prix de Paris. It is quite difficult then to predict if all of the elite pre-qualified in the Global Poker Index will be present to participate in the main event.
